About BIMQG
Bainbridge Island Modern Quilt Guild (BIMQG) welcomes all to join our community of creative quilters. We provide opportunities for anyone interested in the art and craft of quilt making and related arts by sharing skills, knowledge, and fostering a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
BIMQG guild members gather for monthly meetings and sew ins—sharing their work and learning from others.
Each year, BIMQG members can participate in creative themed challenges as well as our annual festival, a highlight of each year.
Don’t live on Bainbridge Island, but live in the area? New to quilting? No problem. We’d love to meet you.
Get Involved
BIMQG membership offers many ways to get involved in our community.
Giving Team
Love to share your creative talent with others? Join our group of volunteers sewing giving quilts for those in need.
Annual Bainbridge Island Quilt Festival
Participate in the Bainbridge Quilt Festival. This yearly event occurs the second Saturday in September. Enter a quilt for display or help design and construct a raffle quilt to support the Festival!
Yearly Challenge
Join the yearly group challenge and create a quilt matching the theme of the year.
Annual Quilting Retreat
Every year we gather off-island for an annual retreat. Bring your latest work or begin a new project and enjoy time away with BIMQG friends.
Monthly Meetings and Sew In
We meet the second Sunday of each month except May (Mother’s Day) which is on the third Sunday due to Mother’s Day. Meetings often include live demos, activities, a sew in, and more.
Our Mission
A Modern Take on Quilting
At BIMQG, we develop and encourage the art of quilt making with an emphasis on the modern approach.
Foster Community Beyond BIMQG
BIMQG works in connection with other guilds and groups with a similar purpose.
Education for All Experience Levels
We encourage new quilters and fiber artists and offer educational opportunities through classes, workshops, and sharing of information—creating a lifelong creative practice.
Creating Together to Support Community
BIMQG creates modern quilt works to support community organizations, such as Project Linus, Hospice, Comfort Quilts, and American Hero.
